Some features of the British Judicial System

The New CPR

The British Judicial System has changed itself into a much more democratic and efficient system through the introduction of the CPR in 1999. Mind some of the most interesting goals achieved by this Code and think about how important it could be for the Brazilian people such development.

  • Litigation will be avoided wherever possible.
  • Litigation will be less adversarial and more cooperative.
  • Litigation will be less complex.
  • The timescale of litigation will be shorter and more certain.
  • The cost of litigation will be more affordable and proportional to the size and complexity of the case.
  • Parties lacking financial means will be able to conduct litigation on a more equal footing.
  • There will be clear lines of judicial and administrative responsibility for the system.
  • Encourage Settlement and avoid litigation.

Now, find some of the words above that you do not understand and look for its Portuguese equivalent. Adding up to your vocabulary. Farewell.
